Messier Family Reunion in Vermont
Sunday, August 7, 2016
The Messier family reunion held on August 7, 2016, at Brookside Campground in Enosburg Falls, Vermont, brought together more than 75 Messiers and Messier descendants who enjoyed perfect weather for a family picnic. Brookside Campground is a lovely little family campground located in the countryside near Enosburg Falls, Vermont, less than 32 km from the border. A favorite spot for all the attendees!
Many attendees were descendants of Edward Messier and Célina Touchette (Jacques’ line), but there were also a few descendants of Michel’s line, including Richard Leonardo (283), who joined the American cousins for the reunion. It was organized by Bev Messier Emch and her brother, Dale Messier. Each participant was invited to bring a dish to share and an item for a raffle. In both cases, the tables overflowed with delicious food and attractive door prizes. Some participants had their names drawn from the box several times!
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed talking about the Messiers and celebrating our family ties. The next reunion will take place in 2018.
