On August 14, 2016, we held our annual general meeting at the Joli-Site hall in St-Pie-de-Bagot. Organized by our secretary-treasurer, Réjean Messier, the day began with a brunch attended by 33 people. Afterward, other members joined the group for the annual general meeting, which proceeded efficiently while adhering to the agreed-upon agenda.

During the meeting, Richard Leonardo presented a report on his third year as president. His report follows the souvenir photos of the event. The annual meeting provided an opportunity to elect directors for the 2016–2017 term. Three directors were reaching the end of their terms but remained eligible for re-election: Richard Leonardo (283), David Messier (347), and Jean-Marie Messier (22). The general assembly elected the following members to a two-year term: Richard Leonardo (283), David Messier (347), and Nycole Messier (409). They will join Jean-Claude Messier (4), Réjean Messier (12), and Carole Messier (357), whose terms expire next year. Due to health reasons, Jean-Marie Messier (22) did not seek a new term. The members present expressed their satisfaction with the work accomplished in 2015–2016 by ratifying the actions taken by the directors.

Following the meeting, we had the pleasure of attending a very interesting presentation by Mr. Marcel Lussier. He spoke to us about Pierre Lesueur and his wife, Marguerite Messier—the daughter of Michel Messier and Anne LeMoyne. As a token of appreciation, our president, Richard Leonardo, presented a book (*Le chevalier Pierre LeMoyne, sieur d’Iberville*, by the Reverend Father Louis Le Jeune) to our guest speaker.
