Trip to the Land of Our Ancestors
September 3 to 15, 2020, St-Denis-le-Thiboult, Normandy, France
Following Anne Roussell’s presentation at our last Annual General Meeting (2018), you will find the detailed program (in French) for our trip to the land of our ancestors (originally scheduled for August 24 to September 6, 2019). Other documents, including the hotel list, flight schedule, registration form, and terms and conditions from Humania (the agency handling this trip), are available on our website.
In the detailed program, you will see that the itinerary has been designed to offer an unique experience through a trip specially tailored for us. We are limiting participation to 25 people, so it is first come, first served!
The program proposed by Voyages Humania is shown in the slideshow following the second draft of our trip plan to St-Denis-le-Thiboult.
Also included below is a document compiling various texts about the « Land of Our Ancestors » that have appeared in « La Moisson des Messier » over the years.
After contacting several travel agencies, we were unable to meet the minimum number of participants required to secure a competitive price. We therefore decided to join a group tour organized by Groupe Voyage Québec (GVQ) for our 2020 trip. We are pleased to present the following tour:

To personalize the trip, we have agreed with GVQ that the Messier group will leave the main tour on Day 3, 4, or 5 to travel to St-Denis-le-Thiboult. I am currently arranging transportation for this leg of the journey. It is understood that our group will cover the additional costs incurred by this detour; consequently, I am already looking for a safe, cost-effective transport option to avoid excessive surcharges. If a bus needs to be chartered, GVQ can provide the necessary support at the appropriate time.
Price and deposit: The price varies depending on when you register. However, a deposit of $500 per person is required at the time of registration, with the balance due 90 days before our departure date, that is, around the beginning of July 2020.
To avoid the single supplement charge, we can put solo travelers who are willing to share a room in touch with one another.
