Organized by our secretary-treasurer, R\u00e9jean Messier, the day began with a brunch attended by about twenty people. Afterward, other members joined the group for the annual general meeting, which proceeded efficiently while adhering to the agreed-upon agenda.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>During the meeting, Richard Leonardo presented the report on his fourth year as president. This report is available for viewing via the link at the bottom of this page. The annual meeting also provided the opportunity to elect directors for the 2018\u20132019 term. Three directors\u2014Richard Leonardo (283), David Messier (347), and Nycole Messier (409)\u2014had terms expiring but remained eligible for re-election; the general assembly re-elected them for a two-year term. They will serve alongside R\u00e9jean Messier (12) and Lise Ferron (384), whose terms expire next year. The members present expressed their satisfaction with the work accomplished in 2017\u20132018 by ratifying the actions taken by the directors.<\/p><p>\u00a0<\/p><p>Following the meeting, we had the pleasure of attending a fascinating presentation by Anne Roussell. She had worked diligently to present the preliminary itinerary for the \u00ab\u00a0Journey to the Land of Our Ancestors\u00a0\u00bb\u2014a trip we plan to undertake in 2019\u2014on that very day.
