Broue
A memorable Outing for Members of the
Association des Familles Messier

Tuesday, November 19, 2014

As part of the Association’s 25th anniversary celebrations, about twenty members, spouses, and friends gathered to see « Broue. »

On November 19, 2014, in St-Hyacinthe, Marc Messier, Michel Côté, and Marcel Gauthier took to the stage for the 3,335th time (if I counted correctly) to present the play « Broue. » In the audience, it was noted that two-thirds of those present were seeing the play for the first time. Others were seeing it for the fourth time or even more. They were told to come back; they’ll get the message eventually!

We know that this trio has been performing « Broue » for at least 35 years, a play that evokes fond memories of tavern days with regulars, special guests, and one last customer who thinks it’s the best place to give his son a sex education. We were engaged for over two hours. The Juliette-Lassonde Arts Centre was packed. Did you know that, to date, more than 3.3 million people have come to see this play, which will continue running until the end of 2015?

After the show, we were delighted that the three actors spent some time with our group. We thank them.

Here are some of the participants surrounding Marcel Gauthier, Michel Côté, and Marc Messier.
