2022 Holiday Gathering

Saturday, December 3, 2022

On December 3, eleven members and their guests gathered in a festive atmosphere for a Christmas brunch at Ferme Équinoxe in Saint-Pie-de-Bagot, owned by Jeannine Messier—who is also a member of our association.

After the meal, our president, Richard Leonardo, invited the attendees to share a memory or anecdote from their lives, whether from their youth or adulthood.

Paul Bellefroid, the spouse of Stella Messier (member 222), broke the ice by sharing stories of his childhood in Belgium during World War II. His account gave us a real sense of what Ukrainian children have been experiencing over the past year. It was a narrative filled with memories and anecdotes—some amusing, others more serious—that showcased the ingenuity and resourcefulness children display during such difficult times. It was a life experience that served him well throughout his life! Thank you, Paul, for sharing such a wonderful story!

a few holiday tunes!

Thank you, Jean-Marie!

Without attempting to recap every memory or anecdote shared, I can say they were all deeply sincere and full of delightful stories!

Thank you, Claire, Mariette, and both Stellas, for sharing your experiences!

Afterward, a prize draw brought a pleasant surprise to our guests! Some went home with a bottle of wine, while others received products from the shop at Ferme Équinoxe, owned by our host, Jeannine Messier.

Congratulations to the winners!

Thank you all for taking part in this first post-pandemic gathering!
