30th Edition of the Messier Family Sugar Shack Gathering

Sunday, April 22, 2018

On April 22, 2018, a magnificent, sunny day with temperatures reaching 15°C, the 30th Messier family luncheon took place at the Pavillon de l’Érable in St-Jude.

Around 110 people took the opportunity to reminisce and share fond memories. Several families were well represented, including Germain Messier’s family, with 20 participants. I would like to thank Luc De Granpré, Lise Messier, and Suzanne Messier for their help in organizing this family gathering. The families of Philippe and Édouard Messier accounted for about thirty attendees. Once again, Messiers came from far and wide, traveling from as far away as Quebec City and the Eastern Townships.

As always, the food was delicious—especially the desserts—and the service was excellent. Many thanks to Ms. Bousquet and her team! We took time to look at the photo displays. Outside, the children had a great time playing in the inflatable bounce houses, while two goats and a pony proved to be very popular attractions. With the weather being so beautiful, nothing kept people indoors, and the carriage ride through the forest was a hit. Since spring has been slow to arrive, everyone really appreciated being outdoors.

A series of photos captures the event.

The next gathering will take place on Sunday, April 14, 2019. Please mark your calendars. See you next year!
